Louis Jolliet By Malaz Fadil :D

 

          Louis Jolliet was born on September 21, 1645 and died on May 20, 1700.  Louis Jolliet was a French explorer and he discovered the Mississippi river. However he was not alone he sailed the ocean with Jacques Marquette.   Jacques was born on June 1, 1637 and died May 18, 1675. They discovered the Mississippi river in 1673. When Louis was 28 years old & Jacques was 36 years old. There journey lead them to a success they had discovered a river, the Mississippi river in North America.

In 1672, Jolliet was selected by the two main executives. This was done in New France to lead a voyage to find the Mississippi River. The people knew that the river from the Native American trading buddies. Except they weren't certain if it unfilled into the Gulf of Mexico or the Pacific Ocean.

     Jolliet found Jacques Marquette, a Jesuit minister, who was to come with him to extend Christianity upon the Indians they met on their journey. In May of 1673 a 7-man voyage set off in birch bark canoes. They traveled west beside the north shore of Lake Michigan to Green Bay, then up the Fox River. They arrived at the Mississippi in the middle of June. Jolliet and the rest continued down the Mississippi river. However at the moment they realized that it did not direct to the Pacific Ocean. Jolliet was of the primary people of European fall born in North America to be remembered for a significant discovery, the Mississippi river. While no real period portrait is acknowledged to exist. Jolliet is often revealed wearing either average frontiersman garb having buckskins and fur cap or in sharp gap, ensconced in the European nobleman's accoutrement his own wealth and status would have ruled when living in majestic civilization.          Louis Jolliet is a good man and will always be remembered in history. He discovered the Mississippi river in 1673. Jacques Marquette sailed with him also they found the Mississippi river together. Louis Jolliet was a great man and deserves to be remembered. He impacted the world we live in today a lot. Since he found the river people in Mississippi probably would thank him so much if he were alive.
